A few thoughts from Mother Teresa:
When life seems at its most grim, put yourself aside and do for others.
Look another in the eye, hold out your hand and send love, a loaf of bread, or an encouraging word their way.
Will it help you find another job if you’ve lost one?  Pay your household bills?  Reunite with your wife, mother, or father?
The answer is yes.  A thousand times yes.  By opening up your vibrational energy to the universe in this way, the universe in turn starts moving and directing a warm welcoming light in your direction.
Is it immediate?  Oh yes.  But you may not realize it or recognize it.  To push out of a very dark place, as hard as it may be, do more for others.
Take the focus off self—self pity, self absorption.
If you’re without a job, don’t just eat at the soup kitchen—volunteer at the soup kitchen.
Put your passions and skills to work for the good of your community, for mankind.  You don’t have to go to the poorest province of India to make a difference.  The need is all around you.
Happiness, self confidence, satisfaction—are just a few of the results you will see.
Go where your passion lies.  Do you love being around children?  Old people?  Feel deep compassion for the sick?  Your heart go out to the homeless?
Love in your heart and two feet to carry you forward are all that’s required.
The need is great.  The joy from serving even greater.
I am humbly,
Teresa

Open the door to the loving spirit of self.

See the divine spark that dwells within.

Whether it flickers

Or brightly glows.

It is there.  You are alive!

You are God’s beautiful creation.

Forever.

Today, tomorrow and all year through

find that divine spark

In all who cross your path.

Love makes the spark grow until, together

We light up the whole world!
